Places to Go

Arts Evening…

One of my wonderful coworkers invited me to join her family at their son’s school for a band/choir concert and art show. I am so glad I had the chance to go! The concert was great, and the art on display was absolutely stunning.

We started in the church for the concert portion where I was blown away by the beautiful organ. It was designed and built by Casavant Frères, a Canadian company from Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec, where they have been building organs since 1879. According to one of the mc’s at the concert (fantastic senior dramatic sketch artists – very well done) Casavant Frères is the only company with an organ on each continent. (Minus Antartctica?) Wow!

After the concert we moved into the school gym to see the art created by each class and to have fun bidding on the silent auction items. I was spellbound by the artwork in ever direction. Amazing!

Can you believe this much fantastic art is the product of just a few students in a small school? Phenomenal!

Here is the gorgeous painting I didn’t win at auction…

And here is the stunning pencil drawing I did buy from the brilliantly talented artist herself…

As well as some of her other works…

I hope she becomes wildly successful- she is incredibly talented!

As for me, I am on my way to bed with visions and pictures dancing in my mind. Maybe tomorrow will bring an opportunity to do art. I will look forward to the moment!
