Places to Go

Fort Langley

Spring Break has sadly come and gone. Thank goodness the weather was nice while we were off, so that we had the chance to spend some family time outdoors! Fort Langley is only twenty minutes from our house, but it feels like one hundred years away…

This little museum right on Glover Road was a favourite with our little ones.

My favourite: the vintage signs. Especially this one. (Metaphor for daily life?)

My son’s favourite: the trains!

Mr. Martini’s favourite: seeing Larry the Cable Guy (voice of “Mater” from Cars…) Apparently he was shooting a movie in Langley the day we were there, which explains the US flag on the Fort Langley Community Hall…

My daughter’s favourite was amazing too. We spent some time in the “antique mall” – a giant cooperative store filled with little booths and rooms arranged by individual owners. We could have spent hours without seeing everything, and can’t wait to go back! Here are just a few shots of what there is in store…

We had much fun in Fort Langley and are looking forward to returning soon – it’s easy to pass an afternoon without realizing where the time went, which is just what holidays are for.

Just for fun: Fort Langley has a little gelato shop with a very snappy looking mascot out front…

Who looks strangely familiar…

  1. I am so jealous!! I remember taking you there when you were little. You loved the antique mall as well. It was the day I decided to have your ears pierced. Story for another day. P.S Kamloops has a train history as well (and trains). We also have a store very similar to the antigue mall called Kelly’s Caboose. It was where I got the german Hummel Christmas ornaments.
